The Menagerie: A Possible Plot?

This idea just popped into my head while IM'ing astro, and now it won't go away.

Basically, the plot goes like this. Someone starts abducting kemono from their Masters' homes and putting them in the Menagerie, a hidden compound that charges visitors admission to view unique kemono, basically a zoo of sorts. Only problem is, people keep purchasing the unique ones before the Master of the Menagerie can sink his (or her) claws into them!

I expect that some Masters might not take kindly to someone abducting their slaves! (Hideki certainly wouldn't!) Perhaps the anti-slavery crowd might get into it too, seeing it as a chance to "liberate" large numbers of their fellow kemono.

It wouldn't happen right away, of course, but it's something to keep in mind once the Masters have gotten used to their slaves being around.

Any thoughts? I'm thinking the Master of the Menagerie would only be a temporary thing, so they can be killed or arrested.

It would be kind fo hard to take a Kemono from a master's home unnoticed without knocking them out first. It's still pretty hard from the sheer size some of their animalistic traits get. But, I see no problem in a Kemono Abduction case.

Well, wings and such could be tightly bound to their bodies, but he'd just blitz attack the slaves and knock them out. He probably has henchmen who can help with transport and covering their tracks too. It would be pretty stupid of him to start stealing kemono without preparing getaway vehicles and stuff.

What if one way to get closer to the Kemono they simply used Kemono to help them. eue
Undercover of sorts.. false sense of security (since many kemono dislike humans).
People buy these kemono under the table (especially ones who like rarities) and the Kemono drug/knock out the Kemono in said household and steal them while the Master is away/asleep?

That could work, but what sort of kemono would work against their own kind like that? Unless:

a) the Master of the Menagerie has threatened to kill them if they disobey
b) the Master of the Menagerie has promised a big reward/freedom if they kidnap enough kemono
c) the kemono working for him have major Stockholm Syndrome
d) the kemono are just that evil

I'm open to the idea, of course, just giving some suggestions.

I quite like this idea as a way to stir the activity and give people something to post about~

As of right now, it won't effect me too much xD; My masters haven't purchased any slaves yet. Karenza's a bit of a rarity though, so I'd gladly sacrifice her let her get stolen. She'd find it highly displeasing. Other than her, my others aren't anything uncommon; 'cept maybe an angelic, but there are plenty of those.

I support this idea, and if I think of anything to add, I'll post it--

Ooh. The people.. if they're making it into a 'zoo' of sorts, it wouldn't be too easy to hide. Or it wouldn't get that many visitors, eh? Perhaps they could be paying law enforcement off? Or, ( influencial ) members of law enforcement could be a part of it. That way, if a master found out, the police and such would offer no assistance? Just.. sort of give of run-around instead?

Also, the place could make fake documentation of owning each kemono, that said law enforcement could call 'legal' and support?

My guess is the zoo's clients are a) filthy rich and b) smart enough to keep quiet about what they've seen, except, perhaps, to other potential clients. That might be another avenue of exploration, one of the characters going "undercover" to check the place out. (Hideki would be out, as they wouldn't be stupid enough to invite him in after stealing his kemono!)

My guess is that entry is either by invitation or recommendation by one of the senior members, and prospective clients are blindfolded, and there are passwords.

It would be nice if someone created a cop who might be keeping tabs on the place (without the backing of the rest of the force). Any volunteers?

Astro put forth the idea of a brothel with kemono hookers, that would be an interesting way to arrange a meeting with any of the captive kemono, also a good way to amp up "teh drama" if anyone wants to write that rape unpleasantness happens to their character.

I'm enjoying the way this sounds. I find the "dark side of the rich" theme here perfect for the drama. I can create or toss in a few characters. I have two non-purchased slaves who could have NPC masters to help start off?

NPC masters? XD;; I'd just like to see a Kemono get questioned and them be like "D: He's right there! -points to an empty space- Can't you see him/her?" It's kind of pointless to have an NPC master unless they are pretending they have one. Hehe.

I also thought they might have an...ahem..."breeding program" of sorts. Why kidnap rare kemono when you can kidnap them...and breed more!

Since the plot probably wouldn't be happening over years, any offspring would just be...there...unless someone wants to write a pregnancy for their character.

So, yeah, basically they're NPCed, basically so people can go "ZOMGtherearechildrenhereWTF???"

Now, who wants to blow the place to smithereens?
