The human race is rather tricky. Their behavior patterns aren't completely the same, unlike many of the other species of planet Earth. They are built to get right back up, no matter how hard the blow to their body was. This is probably why many humans are not afraid to get into fights on the streets. No two humans are exactly the alike, just like finger prints. Even the twins have differences, whether it be appearance or personality wise.
If they had two things in common, it would be their greed and pride. Most of them strive to own the most money, the more valuable items, and to have a high ranking position in society. Most hate being told they are wrong. This even leads to war between gangs and nations.
In most cases, humans have the most greed and pride when they are of higher class--those who are just swimming in cash. These are the humans who are always found at the Slave Auctions, bidding on the captured Kemono.
Even though humans and the Kemono had contact when humans first came to be, the species actually forgot all about the Kemono being an actual being. They just either forgot about them all together or stuck them into legends by changing who they really are. The example? Angels and demons, based off the Angelic and Demonic Kemono. |

Now, the Kemono are actually an ancient race that once flourished on Earth. They were split up in two large kingdoms in which the towns looked more like tribes than anything else. The kingdoms were based on their 'type'. There were three types--Angelic, Normal, and Demonic.
Normal Kemono were your everyday 'citizens'. They were the ones with the most common traits--cat ears/tail, dog ears/tail, etc. Their traits are normally easier to hide, unless they have large goat horns or something like that.
The first kingdom was ruled by the Angelic Kemono. They were the ones with traits normally found with birds. The Angelic had wings and sometimes beaks, and their appearance led any sightings by humans to make them claim that they saw an 'angel'. Smaller wings are easier to hide while larger wings are much harder. Those with either beaks, large wings, or both were always hidden when the humans began to populate the earth.
The second kingdom was ruled by the Demonic Kemono. They were the ones with traits normally found with bats and reptiles. The most common were various sizes of bat wings. Scaled skin is also common among the Demonics, but their skin is actually very soft, smooth, and scale free on their stomachs. The Demonics gave humans a general idea on how 'demons' looked like, especially when spotted at night.
There are a few very rare Kemono that only are born once every thousand years or so. These Kemono can be of any class, and, when they come to age, the king/queen of the kingdom had to give up their position to them. An example? Let's say the Angelic kingdom was ruled by a pair of owls. Well, if a Unicorn was born into their kingdom, they would have to give up their positions when s/he turned eighteen. The Kemono believed that these rare beings brought good luck to their kingdom, and they held the highest respect in all of the land. However, the last rare being was born and then killed when the humans took over. Since then, no other 'rare beings' have been born, and almost all of the Kemono have completely forgotten that they could even exist or what they were. [You must have head admin permission to make a 'rare being'.]
When humans were born on to the Earth, the Kemono tried to become friends with them. You know, to gain loyal allies. However, that plan fell to ruins when the humans tried to kill them. They were forced into hiding, only sending out the easily disguised Normal Kemono out to get food.
The once powerful humanoid species went from royalty to slaves in a matter of a couple thousand years. When humans didn't exist, they were full of greed, pride, and envy. Now, most are actually frightened and shy. Some are easily molded to another person's ideals, while others are not. All Kemono absolutely despise the idea of being sold like some object to some human who is probably undressing them with his or her eyes.
Fun fact! The Kemono had an average life span of two hundred years; however, due to pollution from human cities, their current average life span is only ninety years. |
