2013
It wasn't the apocalypse. Not yet. War had escalated to horrifying new heights. Soldiers were forced to storm civilian towns and cities. Destruction was everywhere. Society began to deteriorate. Governments lost most of their power as people ran amuck in the chaos and failed to follow authority. The death toll rang out in the millions. Everyone was sure it would be over soon, the bloodshed couldn’t continue anymore than it already had.
But it didn’t.
Things would get far worse before they got better. The Bomb was dropped. Mass murder and genocide devastated countries. The constant destruction and fire fight polluted the waters and turned once habitable landscapes into deserts. With all of the changes being caused by mass warfare, weather patterns began to shift dramatically. Instead of rising sea levels, once massive oceans receded to the size of lakes due to immense patches of ozone having been destroyed by toxins spread in the air.
Many of the world’s most beloved cities were torn ragged. War was still going strong even as people died from hunger and lack of resources. There were only a few spots around the world where people were living in relative comfort. That was not to say there was peace. A large amount of gang activity had cropped up in the cities trying to gain control. Soldiers were still at war with the opposing army. Rebellions were on the rise as people tried to bring back order by re-establishing the nearly powerless government.
It is the year 2018.
This is the world in which you live now. It’s all about survival of the fittest in the onset of the apocalypse.
