His dad left soon enough when he realized his son wasn’t exactly normal. The budding horn in the center of Caleb’s hairline and snow-white hair was a big clue. It was possible to hide it when Caleb was old enough to have grown bangs over it, but for his first few months his mother hid him away. Those long days alone, even when he was that young, gave him a lifelong fear of being forgotten or ignored. His little bud of a horn didn’t start growing larger until Caleb reached puberty. At that point he noticed that he was irresistibly drawn towards both guys and girls, but only certain ones. He was able to hide the horn for a while yet, able to go on dates… able to be intimate with the other sex. And after the first few times he had sex, he noticed that he was only drawn to the virgins- after he had deflowered them, Caleb lost all interest in the person. A few disgruntled parents got together after their little angels (not so little- Caleb wasn’t a pedophile, he made sure they were at least his age) had their hearts broken, and in a scuffle during their confrontation with him and his mom, they noticed that he wasn’t human. Caleb’s mother fled, leaving him on his own with those parents, and they promptly sold him into slavery against his will. He was transported to Japan, and promptly placed in the slave auction.
